Abstract
Family education, through its epistemological approach, encourages the promotion of policies based on an idea of family not only as recipient of welfare, but also protagonist of welfare actions. This paper intends to stimulate a more promotional approach, highlighting the generative power and social role of families, true protagonists of caring, especially towards the most fragile subjects. Alongside this clarification, we add another one, inspiring the reflections that will be proposed: political guidelines and legislative actions towards family do not constitute a cost for the Country, but a real investment, especially in the face of the pandemic emergency.
The strengthening of social cohesion, together with an early identification of the various forms of family hardship, represent a promising direction in order to accompany and enhance families, also achieving the well-being of communities. This direction leads to go beyond a representation of political actions as acts aimed at supporting the private sphere of family, i.e. supporting the help that families internally give to their members, but also consider the contribution that families make to society.
