Abstract
The conceptual framework of this volume supports the idea of psychological work where the initial phase of constructing the request is crucial. This preliminary work is carried out through a method aimed at attributing new meaning to the request brought to the professional, thereby revealing the deeper and more urgent needs underlying it. Various cases are presented to highlight what characterizes the preliminary phase of psychological work, which consists in analyzing the request itself.
