[Autom. eng. transl.] The new industrial relations structure is making the strategic importance of company bargaining grow. The workplace is increasingly becoming the privileged area of the new representation of workers' interests and therefore the test bed for a transformation of the union, already subjected to increasing pressure over the last decades. The protagonist of this new phase of development of industrial relations is the corporate delegate towards whom pressure and expectations will grow. The volume recounts the results of an exploratory journey among 2800 delegates of the Lombard CISL, in the hypothesis that they constitute the backbone of union rooting in the workplace and at the same time the central resource for managing decentralized bargaining.
