Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Starting from the one curated by the Bonghi up to that included in the Mondadori project finally respectful of the Braidense manuscript, the Aesthetic Materials have known only critical editions which over time have thrown more and more light on the chronology of the fragments and on the sources of the author's reflection in the second decade of the nineteenth century, but which have never been accompanied by comments destined to return a specific identity to those who until now have been considered preparatory notes for major works. Indeed, the theoretical depth of these pages is not yet entirely evident, imbued with philosophical readings and themselves of an admittedly philosophical nature. Nor, on the other hand, by privileging other interpretative lines, the actual weight of German authors - so close to the philosophy of nascent romanticism - has been investigated so far in the formulation of the Manzonian poetics that emerges from the Materials in a synthetic but very dense elaboration. The contribution deepens, as examples, some passages of the notes, trying to identify the cultural references that have fed them: the aim is both to bring attention to the aesthetic, and therefore philosophical, character of Manzoni's literary reflection, and to put in light the influence of German thinkers on it.
