Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] This research analyzes the tools and processes through which healthcare companies promote the principle of fairness, integrating it into corporate planning. Tackling and combating health inequalities is a priority issue both in terms of public policies and company interventions. In particular, healthcare companies have a fundamental responsibility in activating planning and implementation processes aimed at reducing health inequalities, also through the application of specific tools for analyzing and evaluating equity. However, the business literature offers little evidence in this regard. The results of this work, based on an exploratory case study, highlight a widespread cultural awareness of equity within the company being studied, together with the experimental application of some ad hoc tools, also during programming. At the same time, we illustrate a series of complexities attributable to the nature of the principle of fairness, which is characterized by being broad, elusive and difficult to measure.
