Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The approach to diversity, the intertwining of relationships with forms of physical, sensorial and mental suffering, the knowledge of realities marked by pain, discomfort and the fatigue of living lay bare the limits and weaknesses that mark the path of some people, forcing anyone who works in contact with them to constantly question themselves about the basic values that guide man, his existence, his education. It is in these preliminary reflections that it is possible to catch some traces of the pedagogical thought that animates the entire human and academic journey of prof. Luigi d'Alonzo. Through his intense didactic and research activity, his profuse commitment in the many institutional positions and a vast and articulated scientific production he has linked his name to the history of a discipline, special pedagogy, in which the hope of building in significantly the life of every person and in particular of those who require specific attention
