Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Literature agrees in considering the family relationship, and in particular the parental relationship, as a powerful factor protecting the problematic behavior of children. Families are able to protect and prevent many risky behaviors in their children, from drug addiction to delinquency, providing them with emotional and economic security, a correct orientation, precise limits and a response to basic needs1. Although in adolescence peer pressure is very strong and is the major cause of initiation into negative behaviors and the use of psychoactive substances, family disapproval of these substances and a family climate characterized by a positive relationship, adequate discipline, monitoring and transmission of values, play a primary role in preventing adolescent discomfort and deviant behavior
