Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The aim of the study is to detect differences in the cognitive performance of a group of adolescents diagnosed with ADHD, possibly in association with disruptive behavior disorders, depending on the characteristics and expressiveness of the disorder. The performance of a sample of 8 boys from 15 to 18 years of age in the attention and planning scales of the Cognitive Assessment System (CAS) of Naglieri and Das (2005) was recorded, in order to confirm the sensitivity of the test in detecting the pictures of Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (Naglieri et al. 2003; Van Luit et al., 2005). In order to define the specific characteristics of each diagnostic framework, impulsivity, inattention, hyperactivity, emotional regulation, self-efficacy, metacognition and theory of the mind through standardized tools were also investigated. The data collected confirm the specificity of the CAS in discriminating the different manifestations of attention deficit disorders and disruptive behavior.
