Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The First Aid service, which citizens turn to for urgent health needs, is often improperly defined as the hospital's revolving door for solving any health or social problems. The related underlying theme, which is highly relevant in this phase of reorganization of care networks and hospital-territory rebalancing, is the appropriateness of using the Emergency Room and, in particular, the ways in which so-called improper accesses can be intercepted. , or rather non-urgent accesses, which are often the basis of the "congestion" of the first reception hospital facilities. The immediate consequence is that of subjecting these places of care to a very high pressure that is at the expense of the need to concentrate resources for the treatment of serious patients and clinically urgent cases. The improper use of the First Aid is a phenomenon that is well present both nationally and internationally and studied from a scientific point of view. The analysis of the problems of the Emergency Room, as analogous to that of many other countries, is devoted to a large literature, from which the points of criticality and possible solutions are deduced, and the relevance is also highlighted, in terms of outcomes , of a prolonged stay in the Emergency Room.
