[Autom. eng. transl.] In democratic societies, citizen participation is an indicator of active citizenship, leadership and empowerment that shows how much our communities are "alive": the commitment of the people who live in them generates social capital and promotes training and maintenance bonds of trust. Many researchers have been interested in the study of participatory behaviors and the different forms in which these can manifest themselves and prove functional for the common good. In fact, people can engage in their community through different ways, but the one that will receive the most attention in this issue is the so-called social action.
