Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] This is the first book that Grassi dedicates to the philosophical tradition of Italian humanism. It addresses the problem of the relationship between the singular, the individual and the "common," the "objective." Faith in individual life has nothing to do with individualism and is especially important in the face of growing confusion around the self-affirmation and function of the individual. Although the enemies of individual life theoretically undermine this concept or misunderstand it in its original meaning, in the end they will always have to deal with it. The problems of individual life and of the knowledge of its tradition are related to the image of the western human being, since they are intimately connected with the humanistic tradition.
