Abstract
In this essay Letizia Gianformaggio addresses the distinction between rules
and principles by relating it to the interpretation of the constitution. Among
the theses advanced two are particularly important: the difference between
principles and rules emerges only at the moment of interpretation-application; the argumentation of statutory and constitutional interpretation (of rules
and principles) can be rationally controlled.
