Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Since its structuring in a scientific sense, anthropology intertwines a fruitful dialogue with literature, from the early nineteenth-century episodes to the twentieth century and beyond, when the paths of the two disciplines converge in a fully conscious collaboration. The anthropological datum, in fact, lends itself to literary involvement in more than one direction: from the odeporic, documentary or narrative story, to colonial or post-colonial reportage; from the discovery of the ethnographic archives to the development of even a fantafolk, which in the name refers to the use of folkloric suggestions in the construction of fantastic plots. Then there is the story of the peripheral, which has become a necessity in the face of the leveling of identity caused by globalization; the globalist novel, which projects local stories against the backdrop of a world scenario; the noir, the thriller and the investigative novel, with the shadowy ideas offered to them by an inspiring criminology of compelling narratives. Finally, we arrive at the territories of the posthuman, where even science fiction and dystopias are innervated by anthropological references, declined in subgenres as disturbing as they are suggestive.
