Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The acknowledgment of the curious anomaly for which one of the great classics of twentieth-century American literature has not only never been adequately presented to the Italian public, but not even translated in its entirety. The essay demonstrates the timeliness of the translation presented at a time of political and social suffering unparalleled to that in which Sandburg wrote his poems exactly a century ago.
