Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Boys and the Internet: a topic of reflection and debate which is difficult to escape if we share the educational responsibility that is proper to adults. Parents, teachers, educators and, in different forms, politicians, communication professionals, third sector operators and associations, as well as scholars in disciplinary fields ranging from sociology to pedagogy to psychology, cannot avoid the questions that the rapid spread of net and the appropriation that has been made of it by the younger ones solicit in abundance. On the basis of a critical survey of scientific literature and a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research conducted in the first person, Sonia Livingstone, one of the leading media and communication experts, particularly attentive to the youth audience, proposes an analysis in this book digital environment online starting from the daily practices that children and teenagers put into practice to learn, communicate with peer group, build their own identity or exercise their citizenship rights
