Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Preface to the volume that reconstructs, through a rich archive documentation, the history of the elementary school of Nerviano from the 19th to the 21st century. The sources used for this reconstruction are registers, teachers' diaries and school chronicles, which allow us to detect a cross-section of the history of teaching, but also of childhood history, daily life and poverty.
