Abstract
This presentation is about the ideological components that contributed to the formation of Italian Unity. At the same time, they outlined the ideal tendencies of the philosophical thought in the XIX century. The writing features an analysis of the reactionary aspects, the catholic, socialist and liberal ones, and all the different active components of the thought of the best philosophers. Moreover, the book presents in a detailed way the following thinkers: M. Florenzi Waddington, F. De Sanctis, B. Spaventa, P. Siciliani, C. Cantoni, F. Acri, R. Ardigò, G. Peano, M. Calderoni, C.
