Abstract
Children's literature is often subjected to rewriting and manipulation in translation processes. Pokorn's analysis of post-socialist translations of worldwide classics in children's literature shows how political power shaped their production and dissemination in Yugoslavia between 1945 and 1955, but also the self-censorship by translators who conformed to the ruling ideology of their time.
