Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The diatribe between supporters of qualitative methods and proponents of quantitative methods has lost much of its meaning today. In literature, talking about mixed research refers to the design and implementation of research designs based on several research techniques, of qualitative and quantitative orientation. In this contribution, the theme of mixed research is dealt with from a perspective that largely considers the effects associated with a further revolution in the methodological field: the emergence and consolidation of Digital research. The reflection develops through two paragraphs: in the first, the focus is represented by mixed research and classificatory models, while in the second one we discuss about the diffusion of e-methods and their possible contribution in relation to methodological integration. In the conclusions, some reflections are developed on the potentials that e-research insists on for the realization of research paths based on mixed designs.
