[Autom. eng. transl.] The article places the writing of Mario Pomilio and in particular that of The Fifth Evangelio in relation to the thought of other authors from the Apennine area, for example Ignazio Silone. Some recurring characteristics can thus be highlighted: the testimony of a precise anthropological and cultural identity; the question of uprooting and the consequent need to rethink the link with memory; the relationship with History and its fractures; the hope and expectation of a rebirth to be understood as an active search for a utopia with a human dimension.
