Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The monograph investigates the genesis, meaning and importance of the original concept of secularism developed by Dante in his major work of political thought, "Monarchia". In this context, the political and philosophical debate that developed in Italy and Europe during the 1900s on Dante's political thought up to today is analysed.
