Abstract

The essay analyzes some texts of Florentine sacred representations of the second half of fifteenth century to show how they tackled topics related to political and social news, especially in times of political crisis, in order to influence public opinion through a means of communication of sure persuasive effectiveness. This is an innovative analysis within the studies on Renaissance sacred Italian theater, which has opened up new lines of investigation in other historiographic fields.
