Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay examines the main poetics of the Baroque, subdividing them into actual poetic treatises; partial and / or militant poetics; works that in other guise are in fact poetic. Particular attention is paid to the "new" poetics advocated by Marino, which aims to free poetry from engagement to verisimilitude. Authors such as Giovanni Ciampoli and Maffeo Barberini replicate it. It will be up to Emanuele Tesauro to attempt a bold synthesis between radically different positions, declaring that poetry (and figurative language in general) is not a lie but a particular way of drawing the truth.
