Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The figure of Veronica Gambara illustrates in an exemplary way the role played by a woman "of power" in the Renaissance, capable of combining a prudent family policy with a skilful administration of the State. At the center of a dense network of intellectual relations and author of a substantial poetic corpus, Gambara made a 'political' use of her verses, while her correspondence reveals a strong and refined personality.
