Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The Multilingualism Guide in the school that (s) changes. Experiences and teaching practices for language education arise from the numerous questions that teachers, operators and managers often ask themselves about the integration of pupils with a migrant background, language education - in a plurilingual and intercultural perspective - and language policy. The Guide tracks, collects and tells about practices, experiences and projects that promote the recognition and enhancement of the different situations of multilingualism at school. Starting from a theoretical framework, a reflection on tools and practices useful for promoting the multilingual approach in school contexts of different types and levels is proposed. The starting point of the investigation and documentation path is the Italian school of today, in its form made up of a plurality of voices, languages, variety of languages and stories of personal and collective bilingualism and plurilingualism. A school where the presence of non-Italian-speaking pupils is increasingly configured as a structural and natural data, a great resource therefore to be transformed into an opportunity for "multilingual growth" for everyone (students and teachers), an opportunity to rethink how to "teach" with a multilingual and intercultural approach, implementing systematic, innovative, interdisciplinary interventions… increasingly necessary today to train the global citizens of the future!
