Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The ample monograph catalogs for the first time the Renaissance frescoes of 58 localities of the Alto Lario, reconstructing the history of Como's painting between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries in close relationship with the neighboring territories of Valtellina and Canton Ticino and in an articulated dialectic between the center and the periphery with the most up-to-date figurative culture of Milan and the Nordic region
