Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

The contribution is the abstract of a presentation on the physical education of Italian children (aged 6-10) during the fascist period and its role in the regime’s educational project. Through the analysis of school programs, manuals for teachers and educational journals, the research documents how school Gymnastics became more and more a key instrument for disciplining not only children’s bodies, but also their ideas and values, and thus for inoculating childhood with the fascist ideology
