Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The study of weights and late medieval measures informs of the centralized nature of controls, technical knowledge, practices imposed by law and daily behavior. The comparison between the systems of weights and measures adopted in the Mediterranean and in the North Sea, albeit with appropriate precautions, also informs of general tendencies that can be explained partly in economic terms and partly dependent on the organization of the production system.
