Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The suburbs of large cities are an open problem. Frequently, situations accumulate in them that favor processes of ghettoization, in turn incubators of hardship and a sense of exclusion, often the cause of more or less striking revolts. In fact, the urban peripheries represent a complex phenomenon and to be understood in its polysemic meaning. They pose problems that address decisive issues of the democratic fabric, such as those relating to inclusion and participatory citizenship. Hence the need for articulated interventions of urban regeneration, placing at the center, together with the fundamental housing problem, all the other aspects concerning the quality of social life.
