Abstract
To prevent illegal or anyway offensive behaviours online, it is important to intervene on situational factors, such as the excessive speed of communications on social media and other platforms. The introduction of a request to users, to read and confirm potentially offensive comments before publishing them, may go in the right direction of eliciting a measure of self control and consequence-oriented thought.
