Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In the wake of the Canadian physician William Osler (1849-1919) who urged his students to read the great classics of literature, drawing up a list of preferences himself, the article underlines the importance of the classics in doctor training. Starting from the reflections of the writer Italo Calvino and the Iranian writer Azar Nafisi, the article underlines the "power" of imaginative knowledge.
