Abstract
This paper explores some research paths concerning Classical Armenian, suggested by the theoretical debate on the topic of composita, with express consideration of the typological theories. Starting from the need for new and more consistent classification models, issues such as the treatment of negative-prefixed forms are dealt with and the groundwork is laid for an overall analysis of Armenian compounds whose constituent order is different from the common patterns.
