Per il Dante in 24° di Alessandro Paganini (con uno sconosciuto esemplare in pergamena)

The article deals with the controversial edition of Dante’s Commedia published by Alessandro Paganini as part of his series in 24°, but without place or date of publication. After setting in context Paganini and this particular publication, distinguished for copies foliated either in roman or arabic numerals, it is shown that there are in fact two different editions of which one is a line-by-line setting of the other. On the basis of typographical characteristics a date and new place of publication are proposed for both editions. Finally, a hitherto unknown and badly imperfect copy of the edition which uses roman numeration, today in the Fondazione Ugo Da Como in Lonato del Garda (Brescia), is recorded.
