Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] For Paul Passy, a non-conformist phonetist and committed Christian socialist, the theoretical and applied phonetics that made him famous throughout the whole world is only a marginal aspect of a life consecrated to evangelization, social progress and peace. We will focus on some of his initiatives without forgetting his scientific missions (in 1883 in America, in 1885 in Iceland, in 1886 in Stockholm).
