Abstract

The text traces the biographical profile and activity of the bishop of Brescia Berardo Maggi (1275-1308) in the light of recent historiography; then the text highlights the novelties that emerged in the historical-artistic analysis of the bishop's sarcophagus, of his statue for the fountain of the convent of San Barnaba and the great scene of the general pacification painted in the Broletto of Brescia.
