Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The collection "Convito delle stagioni" by Antonio Prete, published in 2024 by Einaudi, can be considered as a summa of the author's poetic and critical experience. In particular, the collection makes visible the sources of inspiration that have always characterized Prete's work; that is, above all, the French symbolist poets of the 19th century. The book particularly echoes Verlain's musicality and the references to Apollinaire's "Bestiaire" (1911).
In general, the compositions are characterized by great metric rigor and an almost obsessive search for rhythm. The picture is that of a "conservative" poetics, whose aim is above all to preserve - through the perfection of Orphic song - the time enclosed in the space of life.
