Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The chapter analyzes the career opportunities of women in public administration, resorting to the presentation of the results of a case study related to the provincial administration of Piacenza. Alongside factors that indicate the persistence of stereotypes and prejudices against employees (the main obstacle to women's career, as in the private sector, is the reconciliation of family and work), there are also factors that seem to mark a certain progress on the road to equal opportunities. In this sense, having a job in public administration seems to be a favorable element for the development of good practices.
