Abstract
Magazines for girls have long been regarded as a minor source for the history of education and children's literature. However this kind of publications represents an interesting point of view to understand the ethical models and values related to a specific historical period. The paper analyzes some Catholic periodicals for girls published after the World War II. Some of them transmitted a traditional female role model, whereas others offered to the young girls practical instruments to make their lives more independent and modern.
