[Autom. eng. transl.] In retracing significant avenues suggested by the reflections of Edmund Husserl, Paul Ricoeur, Hannah Arendt, Karl Jaspers, William James, Jorge Luis Borges and Sigmund Freud, the volume focuses on some fundamental questions: how is memory constituted? How is it possible to bring into existence what fades into oblivion? What about the drive charge, therefore about the role of drives and instincts in the constitution of memory? What is the connection between memory, oblivion and forgiveness, between mercy and memory?
