Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] In the doctrinal elaboration of Gioacchino da Fiore we can recognize the characteristic features of his time: in particular, the attention to the "ordo" and the symbolic language. Although the developments of these characters in the production of the Calabrian abbot are brought up to sometimes disconcerting results, it is nevertheless recognizable in the very root of his system (the "concordia") the attention to the "ordo rationis", which we also find in other contemporary authors. It is a character that Joachim may have developed also through reading the commentary by Ugo di San Vittore on the hierarchies of the pseudo-Areopagite - from the examination of tradition we identify a manuscript available at Sambucina in the years in which Joachim had access to the monastery
