Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Elena Canzi in this volume, which is part of the Quaderni series of the Family Center promoted by the University Center for Studies and Research on the Family of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan, exposes the most significant psychosocial research conducted on the subject of homogenity since the years 90 to date, both quantitative and qualitative, bringing to light the methodological problems and the questions they pose. The volume opens with an interesting presentation by Eugenia Scabini and Vittorio Cigoli. The first chapter is devoted to studies on homosexual couples, with particular attention to the processes of choosing the parental path and the relational dynamics at stake in the transition. The second chapter presents the results of research on the developmental outcomes of children of homosexual couples, focusing not only on traditional well-being constructs as behavioral adaptation, but also on identifying aspects such as the questions of meaning about one's origins. The third chapter is dedicated to homosexual adoptive couples and the elements of difference that make adoption a path with specific challenges and the adoption by homosexual couples an even more complex path are discussed. Finally, by way of example, some analytical cataloging of the most emblematic studies on the topics addressed are reported.
