Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The article presents an overview of the current situation in Guatemala, starting with economic and social inequalities. It shows how this disparity comes from an ancient historical situation and how, with the advent of the digital revolutions, it has deepened. The picture is completed with a description of the neoliberal populism that reigns in the country, allied with phenomena such as corruption, drug trafficking and the penetration of evangelist religions.
