[Autom. eng. transl.] The panorama of political extremism both nationally and internationally , without neglecting violent forms of separatist groups is varied and fragmented as regards the topics of interest, for the communication and narrative modes, as well as for the chosen communication channels. In particular, the rapid development of multiple forms of extremism and polarization can be interpreted through two theoretical and methodological considerations. The first reflection starts from the awareness that contrary to what one might think, analyzing the situation from a historical perspective, this extremist structure is not homogeneous or unified between its different components and local representations. These differences and often ambivalences are dictated by the influence that derives from the very characteristics of the development context, which refers to the approach already published concerning extremist geographies. Thus, understood as a cultural and geographical background, it then determines different forms of "local extremism", which present inhomogeneous variations from city to city and from area to area and which produce different effects in terms of narratives and cultural products.
