Abstract
In a complex society, also the exclusion shows itself with complex traits. A growing number of people and situations are at risk of new forms of deprivation, exposed to the slipping from the normality to the areas of poverty. These new frailties are less and less definable and contribute to expand the grey zone of discomfort. Not only grey because of the less defined margin between included and excluded, but also because of the uncertain border between visible and invisible, between emerged and submerged, and between project and drift.\r\nThis volume is structured in three parts. The two introductory chapters are on the topic of invisible vulnerability and this is a challenge for research and services.\r\nThen follows the analysis of the interviews to identify strategies for social, educational, and health care work in the paths of inclusion / exclusion, in order to assist people in precarious existence.
