Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Man without a past is a film born as in a dream, as divinely simple as it is complex. It has the air of being the most original and personal creation of Aki Kaurismäki, and at the same time has the most precise masters in the world of cinema. Just mention a few names and titles: Frank Capra and Life is Wonderful, Vittorio De Sica and Bicycle Thieves (and Miracle in Milan), Akira Kurosawa and Vivere. Each of them a fairy tale that tells a deeper reality.
