Non solo Brecht. Milano e il teatro di lingua tedesca. 2000-2015

[Autom. eng. transl.] From 2000 to 2015 the Milanese theaters participating in "Invito a Teatro" staged 189 performances based on German-language works (or authors), five scenic readings and four theater-show performances. Of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries there are only great names, such as Büchner, Lessing, Goethe or Schiller, for a total of 19 representations of their works and 15 shows inspired by these works. Of the remaining 155 shows, 95 consist of representations of texts written during the twentieth century, while 23 are representations inspired by these texts or their authors. Specifically, 29 performances were dedicated to the Brechtian opera. Finally, of the plays written in the first fifteen years of our century, 37 representations are counted, a number that is far from negligible, considering the fact that these are such recent creations. The analysis of the collected data offers the image of a theatrical scene of great vitality, in harmony with the contemporary German language, but also capable of original contributions and inventions. The study is linked to the volume "The German-language theater in Milan from 2000 to 2015" (Milan, EDUCatt, 2016), in which the authors, Gloria Colombo and Giulio Bassani, offer a detailed description of the identified performances, but based solely on the chronological order in which the representations were held, without entering into critical-argumentative considerations.
