Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The chapter questions the impact of the pandemic on the training of future educators: university students of education and training who have found themselves completing their path through distance learning or in any case in a mixed form. March 2020 will be remembered in Italy and around the world as a watershed that irreversibly changed many things. Among them we can certainly include educational work, even if it is difficult to imagine the definitive contours that this will take on in the new post-pandemic or endemic world. Educational services have gone through phases of bewilderment, resistance, a new normality which have required a great deal of commitment on the part of educators. From this upheaval, differently structured services have emerged, for example with a much more extensive use of communication technologies (ICT) and with systems of rules and constraints previously unthinkable. If some institutional documents underline the centrality of education as a response to the educational needs increased or generated by the pandemic, it is still early to define what new skills will be required of educators and what working methods will be created. One issue that will certainly need to be better understood is the experience of students who have been caught up in the global health emergency in the middle of their university career. The educational professions are characterized by the relationship, by the exercise of presence, by communication, by shared research. The question, the doubt, almost the fear regarding the compatibility of the pandemic situation with an appropriate training of education workers is therefore almost inevitable, a fear expressed - or sometimes not expressed - by the students, but also by the teachers and by all the other actors involved.
