[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay reconstructs the project for the establishment of an ecclesiastical land credit presented to the Secretariat of State of the Holy See by an agent of an important international financial company. Using the papers kept in the Vatican Secret Archive, a small but significant cross-section of the relationships that, at the beginning of the 1930s, ecclesiastical entities - in particular religious congregations - established with financial intermediaries in order to carry out real estate transactions and investment. What emerges is the not inconsiderable consistency of the resources that the bodies in question administered, the problematic aspects and the opportunities related to their relationality in the financial sphere, the involvement that resulted from this for the Apostolic See.
