Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The youth issue was particularly aggravated by the 2008 economic crisis, especially in the Southern European countries, where some institutional choices have mediated to the disadvantage of young people, with particularly visible consequences in the Italian case, which stands out in the international comparison for the high incidence of the NEET phenomenon. This deterioration, however, not only reflects the deterioration of the labor market and employment opportunities, but also the weakening - if not the failure - of socialization processes at work. In this scenario, vocational training - together with apprenticeships and school-work alternation experiences - is more than ever called upon to offer a real chance for the most vulnerable young people.
