Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In the collective imagination, growing old as a couple is a possibility worthy of admiration and an object of tenderizing. However, in recent decades 'late divorce' is a growing phenomenon. There are extensive cultural changes in the meanings of marriage and divorce that affect all generations, including the elderly. In particular, the weakening of the norm of marriage as a life-long institution, together with a greater emphasis on the needs and satisfaction of the individual through marriage can help to increase divorce among the elderly. But what is the bond in adulthood? what makes it possible to maintain the bond in the elderly couple?
